Waterhighlights in the Lech valley

Water is present in all its facets during your holiday in the Lech Valley. From tranquil to adventurous, a variety of water experiences await you.

It gurgles and splashes, rushes and rages, it relaxes and refreshes - we're talking about water. If you're looking to get close to water in summer, the Lechtal is just the place for you. From cooling off to adventure, from nature to action - you have countless options here.

Natural wonder Lech

The Lech is one of the last wild rivers in Central Europe and has created one of the most beautiful landscapes in the Alps over the millennia. Its wild and ramified floodplain landscape provides a unique habitat for numerous plants and animals. Reason enough to place it under nature protection and declare it a Tiroler Lech Nature Park.

The Nature Park House in our immediate neighbourhood is the starting point for guided tours of the natural and cultural landscape.

Adventure on the Lech

Nature and adventure come together in a special way in the Lech Valley. A sense of proportion was the declared aim right from the start. Nature lovers and sports enthusiasts alike will be delighted with what is on offer.

You can follow the Lech from its source in Steeg to the Lech Falls in Füssen. As soon as the snow has gone, the Lechweg attracts countless hikers year after year. How do we know this? Because they walk right past the LechZeit and stop off here.

Those who prefer pedalling to walking can cycle from Reutte to Steeg on the Lech Cycle Path. Although the route can be completed in one day, it is even more fun when divided into several stages and with exciting detours along the way.

Rafting, canyoning, canoeing tours or fun rafting allow you to experience the white water of the Lech up close. Just 10 minutes away from LechZeit in Häselgehr at Fun Rafting you will find competent and responsible guides.

Discover waterfalls & streams

The Lech is fed by a number of smaller streams. They offer plenty of refreshing hiking ideas. Along the watercourses, in shady forests, on narrow paths, through wildly romantic gorges and to thundering waterfalls - everything is set up for the ultimate hiking experience.

With the countless kilometres of hiking in the Lech Valley, it is difficult to give a general recommendation. It's best to discuss your individual needs and wishes on site to find the perfect route for you.

The most beautiful swimming spots in the Lech Valley

Do you feel more comfortable in calm waters? No problem! Nestled in a unique landscape, the Plansee, Urisee and Lechausee lakes offer you tranquillity, refreshment and pure summer enjoyment in nature.

Jumping into the water or sliding, lying in the meadow, enjoying a portion of chips in between and then buying an ice cream at the kiosk - does that sound like a perfect day's holiday to you? Then you'll be completely happy at our family-friendly outdoor pools in Häselgehr, Elbigenalp or the Badino in Vorderhornbach.
