The Postalm is a popular destination for a leisurely winter walk. The path leads up to the hut from Steeg or Bockbach.

Edelweißhaus – 1,530 m | Kaisers
Those seeking peace and quiet will find a particularly unspoilt winter landscape in the Kaisers side valley. The Edelweißhaus lies at 1,530 metres and offers a wonderful opportunity to experience winter away from the hustle and bustle.

Berggasthof Sonnalm – 1,800 m | Bach
The route takes you high up to the Sonnalm. Situated at 1,800 metres, it offers an impressive view of the wintry mountain landscape.

Wase Refreshment Stop – 1,320 m | Bach
A cosy place to stop for a bite to eat for anyone wishing to combine a winter hike with a delightful break.

Lechtal Hexenkessel – 1,200 m | Bach
Situated on a viewing plateau, the Hexenkessel offers a beautiful view over the Lechtal valley and the surrounding mountains.

Bernhardseckhütte – 1,802 m | Elbigenalp
The Bernhardseckhütte is one of the higher winter destinations. The ascent is correspondingly challenging, but rewards you with a magnificent mountain panorama. The hut is situated at around 1,802 metres.

Kasermandl – 1,412 m | Elbigenalp
Another lovely option around Elbigenalp for combining winter walking with a cosy stop at a mountain hut.

Gibler Alm – 1,208 m | Elbigenalp
The Gibler Alm is also one of the nine ‘Winter Magic Huts’ and a popular destination for an enjoyable hike through the snow-covered landscape.

Stablalm Alpine Farm – 1,412 m | Elmen
It’s not for nothing that the Stablalm is known as the ‘Balcony of the Lech Valley’. Perched high above Elmen, it offers a stunning view across the wintry valley. It’s particularly cosy to stop off in the warm parlour and enjoy some homemade Kaiserschmarren.

The perfect hike for every winter’s day

The beauty of the Winterzauberhütten is that it doesn’t always have to be a long mountain hike. Some huts can be reached after just a leisurely walk, whilst other destinations require a bit more stamina and time. According to the Lechtal tourist information office, there are around 130 kilometres of groomed winter walking trails and numerous opportunities to explore the snow-covered landscape. Those who fancy a bit more adventure can also reach certain destinations on snowshoes or touring skis. This turns a visit to a hut into a real winter adventure. A leisurely winter walk followed by a visit to a hut is particularly well suited to families. And if a toboggan ride awaits at the end of the walk, the winter’s day is perfect.
